Arimidex
What is Arimidex?
Arimidex is a potent anti-estrogen that is used to lower the levels of estrogen during the cycle. It belongs to the family of aromatase inhibitors (AI) and is one of the most widely used anti-estrogens on the market.
Arimidex' maximum concentration in the blood is reached within 2 hours after ingestion on an empty stomach. After a week of use, approximately 90-95% of the anastrozole's active ingredient is reached.
In addition to this, Arimidex stimulates the release of luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones, which control natural testosterone production in the blood. The drug does not affect the progestogenic, androgenic, and estrogenic activity.
Characteristics
- Classification: Non-Steroidal Aromatase Inhibitor
- Active Half-life: 2 days
- Dosage: 0.5-1 mg a day
- Water Retention: No
- Aromatization: No
Arimidex Benefits
- beneficial for anabolic steroid users - highly regarded for its ability to protect against estrogen-related side effects (such as gynecomastia or water retention).
- lowering blood pressure - some steroids can cause this effect, which ArimideŃ… can handle.
- used to increase testosterone levels - sometimes, it can be included in PCT due to excellent testosterone production stimulation.
- does not affect the secretion of cortisol and aldosterone.
How to Take Arimidex?
The medicine is taken orally with water, always at the same time. The standard dosage of Arimidex for anabolic steroid users is 0.5-1 mg each other day. Athletes preparing for a competition should use 1 mg every day for 2 weeks before a competition.
Medicines containing estrogens reduce the drug's pharmacological effect, so they should not be administered concurrently with it. Also, you should not prescribe Tamoxifen simultaneously as Arimidex, as it can weaken its pharmacological action.
Arimidex is not the best choice for post cycle therapy purposes for most anabolic steroid users. While it has some stimulation effect on testosterone production, its substantial estrogen suppression can damage and to no give such results when using Nolvadex and Clomid.
If your body responds well to this drug, use 0.5 to 1 mg per day during your PCT cycle. The standard cycle duration is 4-6 weeks.
Possible Side Effects and How to Avoid Them
There should be no side effects with the correct dosage and compliance with all indications for use. Otherwise, the following are possible:
- decreased appetite
- allergic reactions
- hot flashes
- bone or joint pain
- lowers HDL cholesterol levels
If you experience any of these effects, try lowering your Arimidex dosage, and they should go away.
Suppose you're experiencing a drop in your HDL cholesterol levels. In that case, it is also recommended that you follow a diet low in saturated fat and high in cholesterol-friendly foods, such as foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and strenuous cardio training.
During the treatment period with Arimidex, be careful when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require an increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
Popular Arimidex Q&A
What is Arimidex used for?
Arimidex is mainly used by athletes in bodybuilding who need to lower their estrogen levels to prevent unwanted side effects.
Excess estrogen is an adverse effect of steroids, which have aromatizing properties, causing unwanted side effects such as gynecomastia and water retention. The main task of the drug is to eliminate, and minimize them as much as possible.
How does Arimidex affect testosterone production?
Arimidex does not lower testosterone levels but instead increases testosterone levels while lowering estrogen levels. The substance is sometimes used to treat low testosterone levels in men instead of hormone replacement therapy.
However, while Arimidex does stimulate testosterone production, it is not considered strong enough to combat deficient testosterone levels, so it is not often included in PCT cycles.
Arimidex or Nolvadex?
In general, your choice will depend on how your body reacts to one drug or the other.
The main difference between these two substances is that Arimidex negatively affects the state of cholesterol in the body, while Nolvadex does not have this property.
Another critical factor is that Nolvadex effectively stimulates natural testosterone production after suppression during the steroid cycle. Arimidex also suppresses estrogen but not as efficiently and often enough to provide the required amount during PCT. It is considered the drug primarily used during the steroid cycle, where its effectiveness and results are superior to Nolvadex.
